Mob Rule

Congress is upset about the apparently contractually obligated bonuses that AIG paid out and is worried about recovering this money for the taxpayers.  Puh-lease… where was Congress’ concern about the taxpayers money when they passed the massive spending bill loaded with over 8000 earmarks and costing hundreds of billions of dollars?  Now they’re all of a sudden worried about the taxpayer’s money?

That’s all clearly just political posturing.  A second and far more important point is that the vote Congress took yesterday to simply tax those funds to the tune of 90% simply because they don’t agree with it is a very wrong and dangerous path for this country to take and has got to be unconstitutional.   We are supposed to be a country of laws not mob rule.
