Your Fairness or My Fairness?

What is the rational approach to take with Barack Obama and his stunning assault on America?  On April 19th Barack Obama gave a speech to a group of mostly students at North Virginia Community College that was a stunning show of arrogance, platitudes, and deception.

The Arrogance

BO:  ”the amount of taxes you pay shouldn’t depend on whether you can hire a fancy accountant or not

Anthidote: Go pound sand.  If the taxes were not so punitive and if the tax code did not have so many if-then statements in it maybe less people would have to hire accountants to figure it out.

BO: “And we’ve also gotta end tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans” (applause from the students who of course know what it’s like to have to support themselves).

Anthidote: Why target the most productive punitively?  Barack has asked before “how much is enough”.  The answer is “as much as someone wants and is capable of”.  But that question also applies to taxes paid – Hey Barack, how much is enough?  Just because someone earns a lot of money does that make it right to take more of it?  On what grounds?  Does that person consume more of the government services?  Hardly and on the contrary.  By what edict does Obama think a wealthy person should pay more for living in America.  It’s most likely that person is already doing far more than his or her share not only in the taxes they pay but it is likely they also employ others and/or generate a boatload of other economic activity thanks to their wealth.

BO: “I suspect there’s a lot of people out there in this audience that are going to be wealthy one day and that’s good, we want you to… we want to you be able to go out there and start businesses, create jobs, and put other people to work

Anthidote:  Yeah right – so we can tax the hell out of you and yell from the top of the mountain how unfair it now is that you’ve succeeded.

BO: “We are going to have to ask everybody to sacrifice“.

Anthidote: Hey BO, we’d like to see the US Government sacrifice.  We do not have a revenue problem, you have a spending problem.  The Treasury takes in $2 Trillion per year and you spend $3 Trillion per year.  Let’s see some leadership on the sacrifice front and offer us (your employers) a plan that shows how you’re going to sacrifice in the area of government spending.

BO: “If community colleges need to sacrifice then we can ask millionaires and billionaires to make a little sacrifice too” (applause)

Anthidote: Do you not already think millionaires and billionaires have made huge sacrifices to get where they are (maybe not the Kennedy’s but most others surely).  What gives you or anyone the right to confiscate more money from those that have earned it simply because they have it?  This is about principle and since we’re looking at what is fair, I don’t think it is fair to steal people’s money even if they can absorb the impact.  If that were the case, why don’t you just post IRS agents at ATMs and demand your cut right there.  Would that be “fair”?  What’s the difference? A shakedown is a shakedown.

BO “We can’t just tell the wealthiest among us you don’t have to do a thing, you just sit there and relax and everybody else we’re gonna solve this problem

Anthidote: The arrogance now is at DEFCON 5.  ”Sit there and relax!”  You must be talking about WIC mama’s, welfare recipients, and system abusers like those who could be employed but prefer not to because if they get a job the unemployment money runs out.  That’s the crowd that is sitting there and relaxing while the wealthiest among us are either working or providing others with jobs.  Who are you kidding? (beside the students in the hall behind you in this video).

The Platitudes

BO: “And we can reform the tax code so that it’s fair and that it’s simple

Anthidote: Wow what a generally great idea.  Why hasn’t anyone thought of that.  Moreover why doesn’t it ever get done?  And here’s a good question.  Fair according to whom?  Those that earn the money and support the country with their taxes or those that receive the redistributed payouts?

BO : “We’ve still gotta invest in you” (the middle class)

Anthidote: Oh thank you your highness.  Then cut spending so we have country in a few years.

BO: “I want to live in a society that’s fair

Anthidote: Us too and you’re not helping.  You vision of fairness involves stealing from the productive to give to the unproductive.  That’s not going to work.  All you’re doing is creating class warfare and stifling private sector growth.

The Deception (deliberate or not)

BO: “The point is that for every dime you earn you’re paying into social security but for Warren Buffet he stops paying at a little over a hundred thousand dollars and the next $50 Billion he’s not paying a dime in social security taxes“.

Anthidote: The law is the same for everyone.  You pay into Social Security up to just a little over a hundred thousand bucks and then you don’t.  The money you’re talking about with Mr. Buffet is not “earned income” but rather capital gains where there is not social security due.  Either stop the deliberate verbal slight of hand with the student audience or get a clue.

2012 and a one term Presidency cannot come soon enough.  The sham is just agonizing to watch, just jaw-dropping. There could be no better message to the country and the world but to overwhelmingly end this man’s presidency with as decisive a victory as possible at the ballot box.

Could you use an extra $9 million?

Let’s say you’re 25 years old and make $75,000 a year.

What if I now told you that your share of future Federal spending was $1,900,000 and that your estimated future Federal taxes would amount to $1,300,00 – and that if you were to instead NOT have to pay these taxes and you could get a 6% return on this money (money that YOU earned) it would be worth $9,200,000 when you were older if you lived to 79 years of age.

I have found a cool (and depressing) online tool that can calculate your share of either the entire Federal budget or even break it down into one of 19 diferent Federal programs such as Welfare, Foreign Aid, Social Security etc…

You simply enter your education level, your age, your annual income and it calculates the 3 figures – your share of spending, your future taxes, and what the taxes COULD have earned you at 6%.

Read it and weep.

Read it and vote : The 2012 elections are coming

Fundamentally Transforming the USA

UPFRONT: There are a bunch of links in this post.  I suggest you click them all for the full picture and see what sham (and shame) this is.

Last year the Democrats in the US Congress rammed through a healthcare law that was so malconcieved as to be everything but in the best interests of people, business, or the country at large.  Only someone (or a group of people) with the worst interests at heart for the country would force a law like this down the throats of it’s citizens.

  • The law was so big we were told by Nancy Pelosi that it had to be passed so we could find out what was in it.
  • It was voted on and not even read – we’re still discovering time bombs in it.
  • Not a single Republican voted for it.
  • Twenty six states have filed lawsuits against the law (see image above)

What a track record!  There couldn’t possibly be anything wrong with this idea could there?

The Obama Administration wants you and I to respect the this disaster because it became a law but then thumbs its nose at the Federal judge who struck down the law.  Instead of getting the message and backing off, the Obama administration has appealed the judges ruling.

What do Obama and the Democrats have against the United States?  It’s not like they can’t see all this.  It’s not that they don’t get the message.  They get the message and could give two hoots.  They have vision for America and Constitution be damned.  For them the Constitution is an obstacle, something to get around.

On top of the above, why are there so many waivers to the Obamacare?  We are now over 1000 waviers – all passes for Obamacare.  Today the entire state of Maine got a waiver from Obamacare.

What’s the point of making a law only to then give out Waivers?  Could it be because under Obamacare companies can’t afford to run their businesses and with the 2012 Presidential election is coming up Obama the Democratic party knows that this law is bad business?  They know that most of the pain in Obamacare is not supposed to be seen or felt until after 2012 – so let’s just pass temporary waivers to those who scream the loudest until after the election and then drop the hammer later.

Many of these waivers have gone to unions too.  Aren’t these the same unions that are mostly voting Democratic?  Why would they want a waiver from the home team?

Let’s for a moment forget the politics of this thing and simply look at the fact that we have a law that has been ruled unconstitutional – doesn’t that tell you something?  Shouldn’t a bill/law this important be light years from something unconsitutional? Shouldn’t a bill/law this profound be solid?  And the fact that Obama and his supporters then go ahead and double down should be a clear message that he/they simply do not give a hoot about real law, real rights, nor individuals – especially the individuals that produce the wealth of this country.

This is all about “fundamentally transforming the United States of America“.  You would never think that you would have to say this, but it seems that Obama doesn’t simply want to transform America, he wants to destroy America.   I think it is clear that Obama sees himself king of America instead of President of America.  That’s a big difference and we’ve already established that this country doesn’t like to be ruled by a king.

Well Mr. Obama you are succeeding in fundamentally transforming the country.  Congratulations.  Only 682 days left as of this writing until the end of an error.

ps: Enjoy this video.  Says it all.

Coming to terms with failure

The world (yes the world) has simply got to come to terms with the fact that redistributive socialist policies simply do not work.  Just looking over the headlines today I see “Greece likely to default in 3 years“, French strikes paralyzing France as mountains of garbage pile up in Marseille“, Cuba’s self-employed to pay taxes up to 50%“, increase taxes on banks and rich people“….

People… enough.  It. Doesn’t. Work.  These are sheer failures every time it is tried.  Been to Europe lately? I love Europe – but have you been to Europe lately?  Have you spoken with the people that are not on vacation there but that actually LIVE there?

We have countless examples across decades of time of failed attempts at this from all over the world.  Socialist, redistributive policies only make everyone more poor – the rich become a little less rich and the poor stay poor.  And the people in middle don’t know who or what to trust under a socialist system (and end up paying most of the bill).   Right now France is already past its limits of what it can support in terms of funding the system it has lived with for so much time.  People need to come to terms with the fact that they have simply been sold a bill of goods, do the best they can, and fix the situation for the next generation.

Redistribution of wealth does not work, and now that news and information travels so quickly around the world on the web and more and more people can see the devastating results of what happens when you tax productivity and achievement too much, the more people maybe are starting to see it.  Succinctly put, you simply cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong and the faster the world understands this the faster the world will be able to move forward in a positive direction when it comes to governance, otherwise little by little the productive simply choose to stop being productive (or be just productive enough…)

And don’t give me this line about fairness, that it’s not fair that some people have so much and other’s do not.  What’s really not fair is to confiscate the wealth of those that earn it to redistribute it to those that do not.  THAT is what is not “fair” and those who push those sort of policies in the law should expect to receive a lot of resistance.  Socialist leaning politicians like to use the law to accomplish their goals in the name of the greater good.  Socialist politicians are wonderful at being compassionate with other peoples money.  And remember money very often is time and time is always life.  The more money socialist politicians steal from you effectively the more of your life is stolen from you.  Either you understand this or you get eaten alive.

You should not be pissed at or envious of those that start companies, employ others, and build wealth for themselves and others in the process.  You should be grateful that people like this even exist.  You should thrilled that competent men and women have invented practically everything you have in life, everything that makes your life better from the car you drive to the grapefruit in your fridge.  Why would you punish the man that employs hundreds or thousands of people?  Why would you punish the man that employs just one person.  The right thing to do is reward that person for being the one that is providing opportunity or others.

I’ve always been amazed at how we treat public service as some holy grail – Obama even pushed the idea that if you goes through college and decide to go into public service you could get your student loans forgiven?  What!?!?!  The best approach would be that upon graduating from college, if you decide to open a company and are able to employ others your student loans could be forgiven, not if you choose to get paid as a public servant by the taxpayers of the country.  We should be encouraging growth in the private market, not sucking at the breast of the public trough and then being celebrated for it.

The good news is that there seem to be signs that more and more people are finally waking up to this fact and the only bloodless way for people to handle this effectively is to send the right people into elective office – people that will protect the liberty and property of all.   The sooner the world stops fighting this and starts realizing the possibilities of the free market the sooner the world will see how a rising tide lifts all boats as the most productive individuals of the world design, build, develop, and make available in trade the best that world has to offer.

Elections 2010

The 2010 mid-term elections are two weeks away and I think we are going to see a major shift in Congress.  If George Will is right it will be awesome.  People are tired of Washington not getting the right things done and tired of all the spending, lies, and waste.  Additionally I think there are two kinds of people in the USA right now – those that didn’t vote for Barack Obama and those who regret doing it.   There is a fix but there is going to need to be a three stage process over the next 24-30 months.

1. Election 2010 – vote out as many Democrats as possible and any Republicans that need to go as well.

2. Election 2012 – The Republicans put forth a stellar Presidential candidate and we vote out Barack Obama.

3. The country holds the new leadership to task to make sure we get back to a constitutional basis for what government can and can not do as well as what it should and should not do.

This is serious business and elections have consequences as we have seen.  This video sums is up nicely.  If you are tired of the sheer garbage and nonsense coming out of Congress currently, do not forget to vote in two weeks.

Two year plan

Obama recently gave a speech in Milwaukee attempting to convince the crowd that he was all about jobs and getting people back to work (yawn – who believes this man anymore?)… He made a comment that for the past two years the Republicans have consistently opposed his economic proposals and seem to be running on the slogan of “No, we can’t and if I said fish live in the sea, they’d say no.”

On the first part… uh yeah…you don’t just go along with bad ideas simply because the President proposes them.  If Barack Obama would propose a GOOD idea and maybe he’d get more support.  If Barack Obama would come before the American people and say

“My fellow Americans, you know, I’ve tried to remake America in my vision and I’ve seen that it’s not going to work, that Americans don’t like to be force fed health insurance, and do not like re-distributionist policies, and enjoy being self-reliant and having and environment where people CAN be self-reliant, and I’m going to now propose cutting spending and pushing tax cuts for the most productive among us to be able to have more certainty and start putting some of their assests to work growing their businesses and employing people”,

… then maybe he’d get more Republican support.

But in the meantime, the Republicans are doing the right thing to do everything possible to block Obama when he wants to install some policy that we all know will not work.  Obama makes it sound as if he gets blocked for no good reason.  Let’s face reality.  Since 2006 the Deomcrats have controlled Congress and since the election of Obama the Democrats have controlled everything.  So why are they so mad?  They’re being blocked by nobody and they own all the results.   They’ve had their hands on all the controls for years with zero positive results – on the contrary.   So yes, it’s a good thing Obama get’s opposed when his ideas are destructive and time is running out for this man and the ideas he and his party support.

So here should be the two year plan from 10,000 feet.

1. Vote out as many Democrats as possible this November.  They simply gotta go.

2. Then immediately pass policies to repeal Obamacare and replace it with an free market system where health care does not come through your employer but is purchased just like you purchase auto, home, and life insurance.

3. Then move to make sure the Bush tax cuts get made permanent.  You want jobs, keep taxes low so employers have more money in their pockets and businesses to expand.  Make then even more tax cuts and trim the roles of government workers by 25% nationally the review if more cuts needed.

4. Move to cut spending.  See the 1993 movie Dave and watch how he balances the budget in 1 evening (yes it’s funny and not realistic but you’ll get the idea when you see the scene).

5. Vote on foregoing payroll taxes for a period of 1 year.  This will be an instant stimulus of every working person without any headaches of having to collect tax revenue and then sending out “checks” from some nanny government.  Just cut the take at the source and watch more money flow into the hands of people instantly because it stays in the hands of people in the first place.  This part to go hand in hand with the deep spending cuts above.

6. Find a stellar republican candidate for President (Chris Christie perhaps?) and vote out Barack Obama as top priority in 2012.

That was cathartic.  I’m feeling better already about the future knowing that Yes We Can!
