Nan Thai

The other day on the fly I stopped in for dinner unexpectedly at Nan Thai Fine Dining and can tell you this is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. Sitting in the lounge and eating at the sunken bar, I felt like I was ssitting in one of the hippest locales in any big metropolis in Asia. The main room has a high-end, Four Seasons feel to it even. The room is very tranquil but busy enough and Chef Nan’s Chef Table is where I want to be next time. The food is exceptional. Visit next time you’re in my hometown of Atlanta. Rua 6

Here’s a band you need to check out next time your in Atlanta. Rua 6. They play heavy Brazillian groove with a mix of Gypsy style. A good guitarist friend of mine from Rio De Janeiro, Marcelo Camera, came to Atlanta years ago and started what is essentially the Brasilian band thing on the Atlanta scene. He’s since returned to Rio but Rua 6 carries on with the authentic thing. You can catch them most nights a a local club called Loca Luna. One of the best bands in Atlanta. Take a look at their website and listen to a few tunes as well….

Rathbun’s

Easily one of Atlanta’s best restaurants. I’m including Rathbun’s in the Anthidote List because the food is simply great and the room is one of the hippest in Atlanta. I had dinner there last night and it was outstanding. Kevin & Melissa Rathbun and Kirk Parks have done a really nice job with this space in the Stove Works which is a fairly hard to find place just East of downtown but worth the hunt for delicious cooking and an ambience hard to find in Atlanta.
